Hundreds of photographs and other images depicting places and events in the Town of Greece are now available to the public through a searchable online database.

Spanning over 150 years of the Town’s history, the images feature familiar landmarks, famous residents, historical maps and traditional celebrations. Photographs of trolleys, ice storms and lakeside hotels from the 19th century are all part of Greece’s rich history that is captured in this collection.

Commissioned by Supervisor Bill Reilich and developed by Town Historian Keith Suhr, the database was built to be feature-rich. Users can select to view an image in a variety of sizes, zoom in and out for detail, download and even share the files on social media. Additional information is attached to each photograph or map and includes a description, date or date range, category, source and names of those pictured (when known).

Pictured at right is an image from a 1920's promotional booklet for the Manitou Beach Hotel.

More images continue to be added and Supervisor Reilich has invited residents to contact the Town Historian through his email at keith.suhr@libraryweb.org if they have historical photographs or documents relating to the Town of Greece that they would like to make available.
