The third annual Glimpses of Greece Photo Contest encourages photographers to capture the amazing geography of the town of Greece; 764 acres of land, 8 miles of Lake Ontario shoreline and 17 parks!
Although the photos must be taken in Greece, any resident of Monroe County age 13 and up may enter the contest. There will be a first and second place in two age groups: Youth (13-17) and Adults (18+). Four more images will be selected as "Honorable Mention" and will appear in the Glimpses of Greece Calendar along with the winning images. Supervisor Reilich will choose a "Supervisor's Favorite" in each of the two age groups. These images will also appear in the calendar. Judges will be Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich, photographer Jamie Montanus, photographer Robert Bilsky and photographer Dick Bennett. During the week of September 10-16, 2017 the public will have an opportunity to vote online for a "People's Choice" award. Photo submissions will be accepted through 8/31/2017.
Online voting will take place the week of 9/10/17.
Winners will be announced Monday, Sept. 25, and winning photographs will be unveiled at a reception at the library on Thursday, November 2 at 7:00 pm. Winning photographs will be printed, framed and displayed at the library during the months of November and December. Calendars featuring winning photos will be available in limited quanitities at the reception for winners, and to the public at a date to be announced.
