Researching your family history can be an extremely rewarding (and daunting) project. Don't worry, we are here to help you get started! Program Attendees will also receive a FREE 100+ page Genealogy Organizer Journal to help keep track of all your hard work! What literacy skills can genealogy research teach us? Genealogy Literacy Skills are part of Information Literacy. We use critical thinking skills to analyze our sources and to create a thoroughly researched summary about what we learned through that process. It's also a great way to build our storytelling and communication skills!

If you are a teen in grades 7-12 you can sign up monthly to subscribe to our Teen Book Boxes. A Book Box is a Library box that you pick up each month at the circulation desk, and it comes with a handpicked book (by us) and some fun treats to enjoy while you read. When you're done reading, just return the book and box, and you keep the treats! Since books are "checked out" a valid Monroe County Library card is needed. Boxes must be returned to the Greece Public Library. Books can be renewed as long as there are no holds by other patrons.
If you're interested, sign up using the form below. Just tell us a little bit about yourself, including choosing your favorite genres, and then we'll do the rest.
Limit 10 people per month.

Read the Chanel Sisters by Judithe Little on Hoopla, and head on over to Facebook to discuss the book with other readers. Antoinette and Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel know they're destined for something better. Abandoned by their family at a young age, they've grown up under the guidance of nuns preparing them for simple lives as the wives of tradesmen or shopkeepers. At night, their secret stash of romantic novels and magazine cutouts beneath the floorboards are all they have to keep their dreams of the future alive. The walls of the convent can't shield them forever, and when they're finally of age, the Chanel sisters set out together with a fierce determination to prove themselves worthy to a society that has never accepted them. Their journey propels them out of poverty and to the stylish cafés of Moulins, the dazzling performance halls of Vichy-and to a small hat shop on the rue Cambon in Paris, where a boutique business takes hold and expands to the glamorous French resort towns. But the sisters' lives are again thrown into turmoil when World War I breaks out, forcing them to make irrevocable choices, and they'll have to gather the courage to fashion their own places in the world, even if apart from each other.
