3D Printing

3D Certification -  Now Available 24/7!

Before submitting a 3D print request, library patrons (ages 12 and up) must first complete this 3-step online certification:

  1. View the video about using our printers
  2. Take an easy quiz based on the information in the video
  3. Read the 3D printing Rules and Regulations and fill out the User Agreement

What is 3D Printing?

3D printing allows people to create tangible objects from a computer file. With our 3D printers, teens and adults have created dozens of items ranging from phone stands to Christmas ornaments.

Why 3D Printing at the Greece Public Library?

The Greece Public Library's mission, "To engage, inspire and inform through community relevant learning opportunities", recognizes the importance of being a center of discovery for technologies, like 3D printing, that impact the way we live in the 21st century.

The library has three 3D printers: the Ultimaker 2+, the Ultimaker 3, and the Ultimaker S3. The Ultimaker 3 and S3 both have a "dual extruder" and offer the option of printing in two colors.

The library has many colors to choose from. Click here to see what our colors look like!

Getting Started

After completing the certification process, download or design your own 3D project. To download free, pre-designed projects, we recommend Thingiverse. Consult our 3D Printer Services brochure for more design and downloading options.

Getting Your Project Printed

Those who have completed the orientation session and would like to submit a file for us to print, may submit their digital file for review by clicking the button below.

Library staff will print your project on one of our 3D printers and contact you when it's ready for pick up.
